"A Cosmic Party" themed cake smash session | Moncton first birthday photographer

It feels like just yesterday I was photographing little Krish as a newborn. Now, a year later, he was back in my studio, ready to celebrate his first birthday! It's always exciting to see how much they've grown.

His parents chose a super fun theme for his cake smash: a Cosmic Party. Baby Krish was dressed in a tiny astronaut suit, ready to explore a cake that looked like it came from outer space! He was absolutely adorable.

Now, here’s the funny part. Krish had never tried cake before. But, as soon as the cake was in front of him, he took a big bite!

He really got into it! He had a blast smashing the cake, getting frosting everywhere. You have to see the last picture – it's a hilarious mess!

Cleaning him up afterwards was quite the job, but it was totally worth it. Capturing those moments of pure joy is what I love about my work.

We also did a simple white set in addition to his cake smash. Krish was so excited to play with some of my studio toys, and it was a lot of fun to document those moments.

And, as all Irina Art Photography cake smash sessions include family pictures, I was so happy to capture the tender moments between Krish and his parents. These are the images that will be cherished for years to come.

It's moments like these that remind me why I love being a photographer. Capturing the pure, uninhibited joy of a child's first birthday is a privilege. And watching them explore the world, one cake smash at a time, is truly out of this world!
